Principle Investigator:
Jer-Yen Yang Ph.D. Associate Professor of Cancer and Developmental Biology
Dr. Yang received his Ph.D. degree from UT MD Cancer Center (Houston, TX) where he studied epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) signaling in breast and lung cancer tumorigenesis. After that, he joined Dr. Matthew Scott’s lab to study Hedgehog (Hh) pathway in granule neuron cell and medulloblastoma (MB) development at Stanford University. As a PI in Purdue University and Roswell Park Cancer Center, his lab focuses on how Hh signaling and metabolism checkpoint control MB growth. In 2020, Dr. Yang returns to Taiwan and launches the laboratory at China Medical University in August, 2020 and continues his research in the field of cancer metabolism and Hh signaling in neuronal development and brain tumor research. Besides working in the office, Dr. Yang likes to hiking, photograph, playing Ping Pong and basketball, and meditation.

Vibha Taneja, Postdoctoral researcher
I was born and raised in Gurugram City, India. I did my primary education in Gurugram then I shifted to New Delhi for higher studies. After M.Sc., I started working in TB immunology lab, All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi, India, where I was part of a project, have learnt basic molecular and immunological techniques, have taught immunology practicals to master students. I received individual senior research fellowship from Indian Council of
Medical research, New Delhi, in 2015. I submitted my Ph.D in Biotechnology, Jiwaji University, MP, India in March 2021. My research was to assess the role of IFN-α in mycobacterial infection which included clinical as well as in vitro tissue culture work. We observed that tuberculosis patients showed heterogeneous expression of IFN-α and this expression was regulated by its negative and positive regulators. We have also speculated that the direct influence IFN-α on mycobacteriaI growth in THP1 cells. Now, I am very honoured to join Dr. Yang’s lab for my postdoctoral research. In my spare time, I like to playbadminton, go hiking, listen to music and dancing.
